Prior to joining IEP, Murray was the General Manager of Wunan, an Aboriginal development organisation in
East Kimberley with a clear purpose and strategy to drive long-term socio-economic change for Aboriginal people.
He worked with Wunan for four years and during this time established Wunan's training and employment section
and significantly contributed to Wunan's strategic direction.
Prior to this, Murray was the Deputy CEO of the Sunnyfield Association, which provides both commercial and
not-for-profit activities that support 900 people with disabilities and has a turnover of $30m. Murray has
also been the Chairman of the ACROD National Committee, a peak industry body which focuses on influencing,
improving and implementing change at a policy level for people with disabilities across the country.
Murray's strengths and expertise lie in strategic planning/implementation, relationships, delivery of new
businesses and systems, problem solving, training, risk management, and marketing.
Murray holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of New South Wales, a Post-Graduate Diploma
of Management from Macquarie University, a Diploma of Company Directorship from the Institute of Company
Directors and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.
