Peter Hanlon is currently the Group Executive, People & Transformation, for Westpace
Banking Corporation. He was most recently Group Executive, Retail and Business Banking, which looks after
4.4 million business and consumer customers within Australia and contributed 43% of the Group's
cash earnings in the last reporting period.
Peter's 20 year career in banking has been mostly at Westpac, including senior roles in Business Banking,
Marketing, Branch banking and Credit. He joined Westpac from the Bank of South Australia and, prior to
his banking career, served as an engineer in the Royal Australian Air Force.
Peter is the Chairman of RAMS Financial Group and a Director of Westpac Matching Gifts and the Fleurieu
Community Foundation. He joined the Board of Indigenous Enterprise Partnerships in October 2009.
Peter recently received the Banking Ambassador Award by readers of the Australian Banking & Finance
magazine for his work during the Victorian bushfires.
